Amazing robot vac cleaner

We got an iRobot vacuum cleaner that is a robotic vacuum cleaner. We set it up and let it run around most of the main floor for about 45 minutes. Real cool. And here is what it picked up......we are very impressed. McLovin technology.

Happy birthday Beth

A little Xmas story

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth
and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground
and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum.

When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor.

In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.
Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open,
and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, 'Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?'

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Not a lot of people know this.

Happy engagement anniversary Lady Di

Today is the day I popped the question to Lady Di..and she said "yes"......which resulted in our awesome marriage. Here is one of my favorite pic's from the wedding day.

Institute for Applied Psychometrics (IAP) main office

[Note..images/pictures can be made larger by double clicking on the image]

Have made some recent changes in the home office of IAP. Here is an updated picture. One can never have enough screens active--there are five in total..can you find the fifth? Also, one can not work without a good big cup of strong coffee in a mug from the Directors favorite coffee house (second office)---Caribou coffee.

This is the g-factor of IAP and IQ's Corner, the ICDP, and the Tic Toc Brain Talk blogs.

Mornings doves are creatures of comfort

When there is no more water in the heated bird bath...what is it useful for? A place to catch the radiant heat....and only Morning Doves seem to have figured this out. The other day there were 3-4 simply hanging on the rock next to the empty bird bath.

Survival of the fittest.

Welcome to the family Jack Matthew McGrew

Jack Matthew McGrew announced his arrival 7 weeks early...early on the morning of Dec 13. He was in a hurry to join the McGrew clan. Chris and Andrea are the proud parents and Maddie and Lola the lucky siblings. Here are a few pictures I took when I visited Andrea and Jack in the NICU, where he will be hanging out for the next three weeks or so. He his a lovely baby.....perfectly proportioned...but just a tad small due to his early entrance into the game of life. Andrea pointed out that he has very long fingers and toes....so he could be an eventual big kid. Lots of hair. As luck had it, this was the first time he really opened his eyes for sustained periods of time. How does Andrea look so awesome after having major surgery? :)

Institute for Applied Psychometrics (IAP) new logo

The votes have been counted (at the IAP logo survey at IQ's Corner blog).  Thank you to all who took the time to vote and send comments.  There was a clear winner.  It is reproduced below....with a slight change in the placement of the bell curve.  And yes...there is a deliberate slight skew to the normal curve...it is more visually eye-catching than a perfect normal curve.  Over the next month I will be working to integrate the new logo in all critical IAP-related blogs and web pages.

Many thanks to my great son-in-law, Anthony, who did all the design work.  He does great work.  It is personal XMAS present to me...and it will be treasured for a long time.

Busy day at the platform feeder
