I'm 49 and NEVER have made a turkey - I have a good excuse, I think so anyway...so indulge me my day. :) I hadn't realized they looked (and felt) so....raw? (I never washed my hands so often in a 15 minute time period.)
That raw thing...get over it Diane...remember...I am the boss of the bird. :) Below...seasoning the inside.
OCD at work. Below, all the food containers and ladles at the ready.
Much better now, it looks more like food. Basting here and appreciating a dang good smell in the house. (my comment of the day: "hey everyone...enjoy it, this is actually my second turkey day meal, the first and last! hahahaha, just kidding.)
Papa helping...cutting it is a little tricky. The bird is hot! But he has years of experience. He did so great! Thanks dad!
Ryan...thank you! Your help was much appreciated!! He's good with the knife too!
Ahhhhh...finally the pay off. At 5pm as planned, dinner was served. My turkey was moist. The food was hot. I survived!! Thanks to the support of the most wonderful man in the world: my wonderful husband...Kevin. I love you!
