An artsy photo taken by grandson Rowan with his own camera. I think
his mom may have helped him tweak it via Photoshop.

On the road again: Boston NASP 2009

I'm on the road again for work-related business. I will be attending and presenting at the 2009 NASP conference in Boston from Feb 23 to March 1.

I don't expect much time to blog...except for possible "push" type FYI posts re: content posted at other blogs.....or...mobile blogging (check out the link.....it is very cool...but, of course, I tend to be a tech nerd)......with pictures of activities, people, etc. at the conference.

I shall return.

UM visit

A grand tree on the UM campus. See prior post

UM Burton Hall

I was back at the U of MN campus today to guest lecture in the school
psychology program. Here is Burton Hall where I spent most of my time
when a doctoral student (I had a graduate student office In Burton).

You gotta love the architecture of buildings of old universities. It
has a calming influence on me. More pics to follow.

Book nook: Spreading democracy

I just finished this book. An easy read and excellent analysis of
whether America should deliberately try to spread democracy or not.
Nice use of historical examples of when and where it worked.

And..if we do how it is much more nuanced than the blunt force
approach of W Bush. I would recommend to anyone interested in
thinking about our role in spreading democracy and how.
